We are governed by the WA Rail Access Regime, established in 2001 to ensure effective and unbiased access to Western Australia’s freight rail network. Arc Infrastructure is responsible for managing the safe operation of the rail network, as healthy as the safety of people accessing the rail corridor. An interface agreement is a written agreement between the road manager and rail infrastructure manager, which details the management of safety risks at locations where road and railway tracks cross. The Act places obligations on road managers and rail infrastructure managers to ensure safety risks at each glossy crossing are identified, assessed and managed. Rail infrastructure managers, this includes Arc Infrastructure as the manager of the West Australian freight rail network, and road managers, including private and public road managers. The latter provides detailed information about Arc Infrastructure’s network and operations, and is relevant for use by people seeking access, overhead rail operators or people undertaking works in the rail corridor. Whilst Arc Infrastructure manages the rail network, associated infrastructure and the rail corridor, there are a number of companies who may be needed to work on the railway. Arc Infrastructure has an in house Training center providing good levels of training needed for a TAP. Arc Infrastructure issues Safety Directives as piece of our rail safety management plan.
